Mom’s Meals® recently donated 1,500 medically tailored, nutritious meals, shelf-stable meals and $500 to Chemocares, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals undergoing chemotherapy. The donation is a testament to Mom’s Meals’ mission to improve lives through better nutrition and its commitment to corporate social responsibility.
The collaboration was initiated by Mark Waggoner, a territory manager at Mom’s Meals, who has a long-standing relationship with Melissa Jordan, Service Coordination Supervisor with Molina and the founder of Chemocares. Jordan saw an opportunity to partner with Mom’s Meals to help provide care items to those undergoing chemotherapy.
“When Melissa reached out, it was an easy decision to support her incredible work with Chemocares,” said Waggoner. “Our mission aligns perfectly with hers — ensuring that those facing tough medical procedures have access to nutritious meals that can aid in their treatment and recovery.”
The shelf-stable meals donated by Mom’s Meals were included in Chemocares Boxes, which are distributed to local hospitals to provide essential support for cancer patients. Additionally, the financial contribution from Mom’s Meals’ Charitable Contributions Committee helps Chemocares further its goal of delivering 1,500 care boxes to patients in need.
A Mission of Support
Mom’s Meals’ commitment to improving life through better nutrition resonates deeply with its employees. “Cancer patients and their caregivers need healthy, medically appropriate meals to support their treatment and recovery,” said Waggoner. “Providing these meals is not just what we do — it’s who we are. It’s fulfilling to know we’re making a tangible difference in people’s lives.”
Jordan expressed her gratitude for the partnership, saying, “Having a partner like Mom’s Meals, who cares as deeply about supporting those in treatment as we do, means everything. This collaboration has helped us take a big step toward achieving our goals. I am truly grateful for Mom's Meals partnering with me to impact lives in an extraordinary way.”
