Mom’s Meals annual Hunger Challenge

Accessing enough nutritious, affordable food is challenging for many Americans. There are more than 44 million people in the U.S. who are food insecure. There are several factors that can influence a person’s likelihood of being food insecure. Some of these factors include:

  • Poverty
  • Unemployment
  • Lack of affordable housing
  • Chronic health conditions
  • Discrimination

What is the Mom’s Meals® Hunger Challenge?

When someone is food insecure, it directly affects their overall health and well-being. Helping combat food insecurity is an issue that directly aligns with Mom’s Meals mission of improving life through better nutrition at home and why Mom’s Meals has pledged to donate 30,000 medically tailored meals through our annual Hunger Challenge initiative.

Each year, Mom’s Meals turns to case managers — our partners on the front lines — for our annual Hunger Challenge. Case managers are asked to identify clients and other individuals challenged by food insecurity who are not part of a home and community-based services (HCBS) waiver or are unable to access meals through a state or federally funded program. If an individual is eligible, Mom’s Meals will donate a cooler of 14 meals to provide short-term support until other community resources can be identified.

How do I nominate a person to receive meals?

Do you know someone in your community who is at risk for food insecurity and could benefit from receiving meals? Mom’s Meals can help.

  • Visit our Hunger Challenge website to complete the request form
  • After you submit the form, we will be in touch to gather more information to determine the eligibility of the person nominated

Together we can make a difference.
