Mom’s Meals®, the leading provider of home-delivered meals in the health care industry, announced after 23 years of serving as an integral part of Mom’s Meals, Mike Anderson has made the decision to transition out of his current role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Chris Choi, current President, has been appointed as the new CEO. This announcement is a culmination of a year-long succession planning process by the executive leadership team.
“In 1999, my family saw a need to help people care for loved ones and ensure they have access to convenient and nutritious meals,” said Anderson. “I fondly remember establishing a business plan with my parents, helping to pour the concrete for the very first Mom’s Meals kitchen, and creating a significant impact on the customers we began to serve. It's been an incredible journey since day one, and it has been a privilege to be a leader of this company.”
Anderson will continue to play an active role in supporting Mom’s Meals as a board member and senior advisor to the company.
Choi joined Mom’s Meals in 2014 as Chief Financial Officer, and then served as Chief Operating Officer prior to being promoted to President in 2021.
“Chris has exceeded expectations in overseeing the financial, operating, and people functions of the company as well as supporting the team in achieving our long-term growth strategy,” said Rick Anderson, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Mom’s Meals. “Under his leadership, Mom’s Meals is in an excellent position for continued growth and success.”
Prior to Mom’s Meals, Choi served in a variety of investing and operating roles that involved building high-growth companies, particularly in health care. He was a private equity investor at Serent Capital and Apax Partners. He also co-founded and served as CEO of Educasia, an online learning company in Asia. Choi began his career as a strategy consultant in the health care practice at McKinsey & Company after earning his bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics and Economics from Harvard University.
“It is an honor to take on the role of CEO of Mom’s Meals,” said Choi. “The Anderson family has built a tremendous organization and culture and I look forward to continuing to work with them to fulfill our mission of improving life through better nutrition at home.”
